Christmas time. The most wonderful time of year. People are being nice to one another waiting anxiously for the holiday to come. A time for when everyone puts their differences aside and celebrate the holiday together. "Peace on Earth and Good Will toward Men". But if we can do that once a year, why can't we do that ALL year. Why can't we forgive our neighbors and be friends. To have no more fighting or nuclear weapons that can destroy the world. Why can't we have a world in where you don't have to worry if someone will rob and try to kill you in the middle of the night. Why can't we have a world where fighting is removed from our dictionaries? WHY? People. That's why. There are plenty of people that agree with my ideas, but there are people who are not willing to sacrifice their pride. People who can't stand to lose in any way. People who are racist and sexist who won't even try to listen to other opinions about their decisions. People who think that the world is against them and try to get revenge on it. If we can make it so that everyone WANTS to change for the better, then we can have Peace on Earth. A man named Jimi Hendrix, a man wise beyond his 27 years he was here, once said " When the Power of Love overcomes the Love of Power, then the world will know Peace". It will be something in which we can never make it as law or have any kind of force behind it. The Earth and her people will have to rise up one day and say "We shouldn't be doing this" and throws their weapons, their hate, and their prejudice aside. When will that be? God only knows. A year? Two years? 1000? or a million? Time won't matter because when that day finally comes, all the time in the universe could have been spent on it, and it would still be worth it. That's all for tonight. God Bless and Pax Vobiscum.

My Story
Some of the people who know me well and have seen my blog might be a little curious as to how a guy who is as smart as me became so religious. Nobody has ever truly asked me my story si anyone that's curious here it is: For the majority of my life I never stepped foot inside a church. My parents never forced me or my sister to go to it. They never said anything about it and so I nor my sister ever mentioned it. I just never knew anything else. We went to church once or twice every few years but not often at all. Well, about three years ago, my aunt (who recently went home to the Lord), offered to take me to Church one day and I took it. I loved it and even went to the night service with her. Then for several months, I went with her to church and enjoyed it and started learning about Jesus and what all he has to offer. But, then my aunt stopped going, therefore I had to stop going. After that, I went back to life without church. But, over a year ago, a new church in my neighborhood (if you want to call it that) opened up and my parents knew the pastor. He is also my cousin and bus driver (i know it's weird). Well, they decided to go and took me and my sister with them. We went and loved it. That was March of 2008. But, at about September, I don't know what came over me. I actually started doubting the Bible and even started questioning the existence of God. Thoughts that I had for years started making sense in the argument of the non-existence of God. But one day, exactly I can't remember by the truly Amazing Grace of God, the Truth dawned on me. What I realized that day gave me undeniable, irrefutable proof that GOD DOES EXIST ALONG WITH HEAVEN. What I learned that day, I will not share because that was a day that changed my life forever and I want the same for everyone. So the rest of 2008, I was a better Christian, but I still had a few problems. I was dediccated but not as much as I should have been. Well, back in January, one of my best friends ever devoted his life to Jesus and he has helped me become a more excited, better, passionate, and patient Christian. He has truly helped my spiritual evolution over the past few months. Now, I totally live for Jesus even though I'm an academic. Now, I try to live as much as like Jesus as possible and to study his Word and help spread it. Hopefully one day, I can be the true warrior of God that I believe that I was born to be. I will try to help spread the word as much as possible and live by it the best I can. To trust everything to Him. Not to toot my own horn, but I have a feeling that I can change lives for the better and help people rech Jesus Christ. My preacher even said to me one day "Rocky, this is a flash of prophecy that I just recieved from the Lord. You're going to do great things with your life and you WILL change lives. You will make a difference in the world." I believe that now and I have the story to prove it. I'm one the smartest guys some people will ever meet and I probably have every reason NOT to believe but I do and enjoy it so much. Hopefully this clears some things up with people and show that I am the real deal and not a hypocrite. God Bless and Pax Vobiscum.
The Meaning of Life
For some reason, this just came to me today. For millenia, mankind has often wondered the true meaning of existence. Why are we here? What is the point of life? Does anything I do matter in the long run? Well, to answer that makes me think of a sermon my preacher once had at church. I can't remember it word for word but the whole concept was to "occupy" until the Lord came whether that be the Rapture or Death. He meant that we should, well I don't want to say this but, kill time as you might say. Prepare for the day that we meet Christ Jesus. Included in that preparation, is spreading his wonderful word, have people saved, and being his humble servant. What does this have to do with anything about Life in general? Well, this is what I belive to be the FULL meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything: Learn about the Lord, "occupy", and genrally make life better for those around you. That is why we are here. We can't control our fate or choose when we meet Jesus, but we can prepare for that day and help others prepare for it as well. If you want one statement to sum up everything I said, well it's "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I really don't anything else to say. This just came upon my mind and I decided to blog about it. I guess you can say that God helped PREPARED me for this. Hopefully this will make sense to someone out there. God Bless.

Something I've always wondered about.
Within the Christian world, there are numerous denominations of the faith such as the following: Baptist, Episcopal, Pentecostal, Mormon, Free Will Baptist, Methodist, Church of God, Presbyterian, Wesleyan, and Catholic. Why do we need all of these different factions within ONE religion? Why can't we be like it was back when Christianity just started: ONE denomination, ONE way to learn about Jesus. The way I see it is that all of these denominations are opposing opinions and ideas about the Bible. Individuality is good but face it: The Bible does not waver to everyone's ideas. It's there and it never changes. Basically what I'm saying is that I believe that there should only be one denomination. The kind in which people just read the Bible, learn from it, and try to be like Jesus. Simple as that. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you still don't understand what I'm saying here's an example: Two Christian guys. One named Billy and the other is Johnny. Billy goes to a church with an undefined denomination, but he reads his Bible, does everything it says, follows The Commandments, and everything that we should be doing. No questions asked. Well, we have Johnny over here who reads in his Bible and then says " Hey!, you know I don't really believe in this part because no one else in my church does either". So a whole section of the Bible is completely ignored because it goes against a denominated church's doctrine. Now I want people to understand is that I'm not trying to say I'm completely against denominations. I just believe that we should do as Jesus originally intended for us to do and not to create different kinds of churchs for incomplete or ludicrous interpretations of the Bible. If your wondering which denomination I would pick for everyone to follow, I would say the oldest one, Catholicism. It makes sense to me because Simon Peter was the first Pope. "I have so named you Peter for upon this rock I shall build my Church". Jesus said that and the church he talked about became the Catholic church. Peter was the leader and the leader of the Catholic Church is the Pope. Every kind of ritual and prayer services would be as Peter did 2000 years ago. They just follwed Jesus and didn't ask questions. If there is anyone who reads this with a denominated church and you feel offended, I deeply apologize. I don't want to offend anyone, I just wanted to say what was on my mind. Maybe someone agrees with me out there. God Bless and Pax Vobiscum.

God's OTHER Chosen People
We all should know that people of the Jewish faith are really and truly God's chosen people. It's pretty clear in the Bible. Does that mean that they are the ONLY chosen ones? I don't think so. Here a little story about another one that I have personally met: For the past six summers, I have been working as a volunteer at Flatwoods Elementary Summer Day Camp. I've seen every kind of kid possible through this program, but nothing prepared me for what came to me early last summer. His name is Ethan Edmundson. He was 5 years old at the time. He has Cerebral Palsy and as such he's different from the other kids at camp. He has some trouble walking and he claims he has to go "peepee" at least every five minutes. I didn't know much about him but I was assigned to take care of him. Well at camp we go to different places everyday and the day I'm talking about was swimming at Bobby Miller Pool. Well, the pool is indoor and has the nice looking tile around the pool(not sure what it is) and can hurt someone if wet. Well, I didn't know he needed shoes or anything for the pool and plus he didn't have any with him. So he went in, swam for a few minutes, then rush out of the pool towards the bathroom, and then *BLAM* he slipped and hit his head on the ground. Now if this was another kid, he would have gotten over it, but Ethan has Cerebral Palsy (CP) and hitting his head could possibly kill him. Well he cried and after a while he seemed OK. After we swim we go to the library upstairs and participate in their summer reading program. Ev erything was fine at first and then, Ethan got up went to a teacher and just threw up everywhere. I picked him up and rushed him to the bathroom to clean him up. As, I was cleaning him up, and I saw the sadness in his face, I understood something then. People wonder why if God loves us and created us in his image, then why do we have people who are menatlly handicapped and with mental disorders? Can't he just take that away from them and make them normal? He could but, those handicapped people are his Chsoen Ones. They're here to make sure that we do our job as Christians. To make sure we don't pass judgement on others and to love one another unconditionally. I realized this and now I'm a better person and a Christian as a whole for doing so. I spent all of last summer with him and he's back this year and I am really excited to see him there. Every time I see him now, it's a reminder of God's amazing and infinite love for us. Hopefully, I reached out to someone with this. God Bless!

God can speak through ANY medium
Music. I absolutely love it. Of course, I love God first but after him it's my family and friends, and then music. Anyways, music helps me with alot of things. It actually helps me concentrate whenever I do homework. It helps me organize my own thoughts and emotions. It provides an escape from reality for just a short while. Now, as a Christian I of course listen to Christian music and I love it. Now sometimes when I listen to Christian music, I get this feeling that comes over me and all the hair on my body just stands up. What exactly is it? Well, my guess would be The Holy Spirit (Ghost whatever you want to call it) coming over you. So any true Christian should feel that whenever you listen to that kind of music right? What does it mean when you have the exact same feeling listening to something not classified as Christian music. I'll be honest and say that I don't listen to that kind everyday all the time. I actually listen to Classic Rock, Hard Rock, and Heavy Metal the most. But sometimes, I come aross a song by a certain band and I get that feeling as if I was in church or listening to Christian music. An example for me: The first time I actually sat down and listened carefully and fully immersed myself into Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, I promise you I felt the Holy Spirit. And truly the song is not about Heaven per se, it's about a woman who thinks that she can buy everything that she wants in life. God inspired that band to write that song and now it's the most requested song on FM Radio of all time and it was never a single here. Another example is Jeremy by Pearl Jam. It's about an article the lead singer read one day: 12 year old kid commits suicide in front of classmates during school. That is horrible in itself but what upset the singer was that it wasn't even a headline but just a small little snip of an article on the smae page as the weather forecast. He apparently got inspired to write a song about it because he believed that people should know about this and that it's a major issue. My point is that just because you don't listen to Christian music all the time , doesn't mean that you can't get a message from God. He truly can speak through ANY medium, even in unexpected places such as this. If you have opinions, please comment. Hopefully this made sense to somebody. God Bless and Pax Vobiscum.

My Personal Beliefs
Religion. Science. Two worlds that seem different to the majority of the world, but share similar qualities. Nowadays, people are expected to be on one side or the other. God vs Big Bang. Adam & Eve vs Evolution. The list goes on. But why must a person choose one when they can have both? This is what I think about certain things associated with The Bible and Science: The Beginning. I believe that one day God looked down from Heaven and said " This is a pretty dull place right now. I'll change that right now." So he creates two subatomic particles out of thin air, makes them colllide at speeds over the speed of light, and then *blam* The Big Bang occurs. The Age of the Earth: The Bible clearly says that the Earth and the rest of the Universe was created in 6 days hence a 7th day for rest. Science says that it took millions upon millions of years for dust and rocks to collide and grow to become planets, and then stars, and other celestial objects. My view is that God has a concept of time beyond that of which we can comprehend. Meaning that 1 day for him could be 50 million years for us. It's his will. I try my best to incorporate both into what I believe. Why? for this reason: For the majority of my life, my family never went to church and we were comfortable with that. So if I had questions, science provided the answers for me instead of the Bible. Well, now I have become a true Christian and I thoroughly enjoy it with all my heart and soul. God and Jesus are the most amazing people I have ever met. Anyways, now I 'm trying to think of ways to answer age-old questions with my new found faith and with the scientific explanations which I am accustomed to. If you have something to say, go right ahead. I don't think I should have offended anyone. If I did , I am sorry. Enjoy. God Bless and Pax Vobiscum (may peace be with you)
